Our Story

Each roast embodies a unique story, celebrating the journey from farm to brew.

Fat Bean Coffee began in 2023 as a tribute to the roots of Rocío and Diana, two Colombian mothers now living in Bristol.

Inspired by the rich coffee culture they grew up with, they set out to create something meaningful: a roastery that connects passionate Colombian farmers with coffee lovers across the UK.

Deeply connected to Colombia’s coffee-growing heritage, they returned to the Andes Mountains to work directly with smallholder farmers. Many of these producers cultivate micro-lots in regions once affected by conflict, where rivers, rainforests, and rich biodiversity shape the landscape. In these remote mountain communities, coffee is grown with patience and care, using traditional methods and environmentally responsible practices. Only the ripest cherries are hand-picked, resulting in distinctive coffees full of character and complexity.

At Fat Bean Coffee, great coffee is just the beginning. We are committed to paying farmers above market prices, helping them support their families, protect their land  and preserve generations of coffee-growing tradition.

Every cup of Fat Bean Coffee is an invitation to discover remarkable flavours, support small-scale growers, and be part of a journey rooted in heritage, community, and sustainability. It hasn’t always been an easy road, but with passion, resilience, and plenty of coffee along the way, we’re proud to be here sharing it with you, one delicious sip at a time.

Thanks for being part of the journey.
