The Story of our coffee

From the heart of Colombia’s Andes mountains comes Azulejo a single origin coffee that blends tradition, sustainability, and a deep rooted passion for the land. Nestled in the majestic Central Mountain Range and surrounded by lush landscapes, this family project is brought to life by the bond of three generations: the wisdom of Doña María Inés, the vision of her son Tano Daniel, and the environmental commitment of her grandson Hugo.

A Story That Inspires

Azulejo is more than just coffee. It is the story of Doña María Inés, a courageous and resilient woman who turned adversity into strength. At the age of 12, she lost her father and, just months later, became a victim of the Colombian conflict, losing her home and everything she knew. At 40, she faced the loss of her husband and vowed to wear mourning as a symbol of love and respect for the rest of her life. Despite these hardships, her unwavering belief in education ensured all her children attended university. Today, her leadership and devotion to nature make her a beacon of hope in her region.

A Shared Passion

The legacy continues through her family. Her son, Tano Daniel, a marketing professional, founded a premier roastery to empower local producers and expand their commercial reach. Her grandson, Hugo, a biologist, leads environmental campaigns to ensure their farming practices protect the very biodiversity that makes their coffee unique.

Grown with Respect

Azulejo beans are cultivated under natural shade using organic compost to preserve the ecosystem’s delicate balance. Proudly holding the Rainforest Alliance certification, we guarantee coffee that supports both the land and the well-being of rural communities.

Azulejo is more than coffee. It is a legacy, a family, and the future, born from María Inés’ strength, her son Tano Daniel’s vision, and her grandson Hugo’s commitment to the environment.

Today, Azulejo proudly holds certifications such as Rainforest Alliance, recognising its commitment to sustainability, quality, and the well-being of rural communities.

Azulejo is more than coffee. It is a legacy. It is family. It is the future.
